Release of Liability Policy

Definitions:

Entity/ies: includes the owner, Randi Klassen, and any affiliates of the ‘Paired with Wine’ brand, including the sub branches of ‘Paired Tastings and Events’ and ‘Paired Ontario’.

Wine Tasting: The ‘Wine Tasting’ is defined as the duration of time in which the Entity is present and providing the Wine Tasting Services they have been hired to preform.

Host: The individual and/or the organization represented by that individual that hires Paired Tastings and Events to provide a Paired Wine Tasting. This is the individual and/or organization that agrees to have read the Release of Liability Policy prior to paying the invoice.

Guest(s): Any attendee at a Paired Wine Tasting Event, including those who contribute financially to the party, and those who attend for free. Guests also include any member of the household that is present during the duration of the Wine Tasting Event.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY

  1. The Entities, including Paired Tasting Events, its owner, Randi Klassen, and its associates assume no liability for any activities associated with a Paired Wine Tasting. Any person(s) or organization that hires Paired Tasting and Events as a Host, waives, releases, and discharges on behalf of themselves and all Guests any and all liability, including but not limited to, liability arising from the negligence or fault of the Entities for death, disability, personal injury, property damage, property theft, or actions of any kind which may occur while hosting or participating in any Wine Tasting activities.

  2. The Host acknowledges and assumes all risks associated with the consumption of alcohol for themselves and their Guests. The risks include but are not limited to intoxication, alcohol poisoning, death, disability, injury, property damage, property theft, or any other actions causing harm. By paying all or part of the invoice the host agrees to have read the Release of Liability Policy and the Host assumes all risks on behalf of themselves and any Guests.

  3. The Host acknowledges and assumes all liability for the safety of their Guests and releases, waives and discharges the Entities from any and all claims, demands, losses, or damages occurring before, during, after, or as a result of hosting a Wine Tasting event.

Pricing

Please see the information packages at https://pairedtastings.org/wine-tasting-parties to find details on pricing.  Each party comes with consultation, private sommelier experience, set up and take down, glassware and flatware, wines, and gourmet cheeses and accompaniments. Charcuterie boards and travel costs are additional costs.

What do I need to provide?

Hosts must provide a table with chairs that is large enough for their number of guests. I recommend a space of 18-24 inches for each person to comfortably place their wine flight in front of them. For food safety, a small amount of fridge space to hold the meat and cheese while set up is happening is appreciated.

Payment information.

After confirming your booking with Randi, you will receive an electronic invoice via email. It is payable via etransfer to pairedtastings@gmail.com or by secure credit card payment with Stripe through the link provided on the invoice. Please see Stripe Payments End Customer policies for their security and privacy policies.

Cancellation Policy for Private Residence

A deposit of $200 is required to hold your preferred party date for the case of parties held at private residences. The date is considered open for booking until this deposit is paid. The deposit amount is applied to the invoice total when paid. The remaining invoice balance is due 72 hours prior to the party.

HOST CANCELLATION:

  1. If the host cancels 72 hours or more, prior to the Wine Tasting Event they forfeit the $200 deposit.

  2. If the Host cancels with less than 72 hours prior to the event, the entire invoice balance including the Wine Tasting Service, Travel and Charcuterie is due. The balance must be paid within 3 days of cancellation. If the invoice balance is not paid in full after 3 days of cancellation, the unpaid amount is subject to a 20% per annum interest charge, compounded daily. Invoices unpaid after 3 months will be sent to collections.

CANCELLATION BY PAIRED:

  1. If Randi Klassen, on behalf of Paired, must cancel due to illness or emergency, the total amount paid to Paired will be fully refunded to the Host. The Host may also choose to defer their accounts paid to another available date.

  2. If the balance of the invoice is not paid 72 hours prior to the event, Paired reserves the right to cancel the event and withhold the deposit.

CANCELLATION DUE TO GOVENMENT ENFORCED COVID-19 LOCKDOWNS

  1. If household gatherings of less than 13 persons are forced to discontinue due to government enforced Covid-19 regulations, your party will be deferred to another date. If the second date is also cancelled due to Covid-19 enforced regulations, you will receive a full refund.
